年輕時聽到這曲 "Self Control" 在大街小巷洗腦式的強逼每個人都要學會它的旋律，沒錯，它一下就確定了它在流行音樂史每個人數家珍的心目中地位，蘿拉布蘭妮根沙啞的聲音真的無人可以取代她的招牌歌曲，繼成名曲"Gloria"後她在80年代有好幾首強烈風格的歌曲引領風騷了好一段時間，經過時間沉澱，會發現其實她聲音裡不只是重複模式的既定用力，她還注入了一種無可名狀的感情深度，所以就算是旋律是那麼可想而知的近乎芭樂，但就是能在潺潺而逝的歲月河流中獨立難忘，也就是不管她在2004年那麼年輕就離開人世，人間迴盪著依舊都是她不怎麼狂野但絕對夠勁的那些難忘好歌。
